Russell Pullan is a Canadian and British pioneer in clean energy investing, and cleantech venture capital with over 25 years of international experience in the energy and resource efficiency sector.

His career began as an entrepreneur and he has built and run successful international funds in the clean energy and technology sector for The Carbon Trust, Nomura, Saudi Aramco and an energy efficiency infrastructure fund backed by the UK Green Investment Bank.

Russell is the Managing Partner of Igloo Energy Capital based in the UK and North America, as well as the Founding Investor and Chairman of CoPower, an award-winning platform for crowdfunding of renewable energy projects and the issuer of green bonds. CoPower has financed a number of renewable energy projects across North America and released an innovative 5% Yield Renewable Energy Green Bond, which has proved popular among a diverse range of investors, including conventional sources of financing, among them family and pension funds, and an emerging class of “millennial” investors.

Alongside his career he has actively engaged with a number of international climate and energy initiatives, including those under the aegis of UNFCC-COP, UNEP, OECD, UK Department of Energy and Climate Change, UK Prime Minister’s Office, US White House, WBCSD, UK Green Investment Bank, the Canadian High Commission, The World Economic Forum, and the Rocky Mountain Institute.

Russell also volunteers as Chairman of Sustainable Business at YPO, Young Presidents Organization. YPO is the world’s leading peer network of CEOs – including global energy and O&G companies. Member businesses turn over approximately $6 trillion per year or 8% of global GDP. He is also trained as a neurophysiologist in Canada, followed by an MBA from INSEAD in France.
